DBT Skills Group for Therapists

Learn the DBT Skills in a supportive environment with other therapists

This group is for you if you:

  • Are curious about how DBT skills can help YOU

  • Know that the best learning comes from knowing things in your bones first - before you can integrate it into your clinical work

  • Want concrete tools to help you and your clients skillfully respond to life's challenges

  • Recognize that personal and professional growth go hand in hand

  • Want structure and support in learning how to apply the skills

  • Have tried learning DBT skills on your own but it hasn't stuck

You Also

  • Want to learn how to regulate your own emotions more effectively

  • Want to feel confident in communicating your limits and boundaries to others

  • Want skillful ways to care for yourself when things get hard

  • Find your emotions sometimes prevent you from showing up as your best self, particularly in your closest relationships

  • The experience of being in a DBT Skills Training group with the same curriculum that clients get

What You Get

  • Two experienced group leaders who have been there themselves

  • Live, small group learning

  • A supportive group of fellow therapists on a similar path

All theoretical orientations are welcome. We see the skills as a compliment to how you are already working. You do not have to want to practice the full DBT model to benefit from the group.

While this group will teach you DBT Skills that you can incorporate into whatever models of therapy you already use, the full DBT model is complex and requires intensive training.  Behavioral Tech Institute or Treatment Implementation Collaborative are places to find comprehensive DBT training.

This group isn’t therapy. It’s a supportive psycho-educational class focused on personal and professional development.

The group is a 27 week commitment divided into three 9 week modules.

  • The group meets on Zoom live Mondays from 10-11:30 am Pacific Time.

  • We meet every Monday for 27 weeks, excluding major holidays.

  • Our first group is January 27, 2025.

Group meetings will not be recorded to allow for a sense of privacy and safety so group members can freely share. It’s ok if you have to miss a group occasionally - a weekly homework email will be sent out to let you know what material was covered.

The best way to learn the skills is through practicing, so you’ll need to carve out some time and space to practice the skill between each group meeting. We assign a homework worksheet each week to provide structure to your practice.

Payment

  • The total cost for the full 27 week course is $2,970

  • Payment is per module. Each 9 week module is $990. There are 3 modules total

  • Limited sliding scale spots available for financial need
