Course Description

Come learn the DBT skills for yourself.

This course will provide a structured framework for understanding and utilizing the 4 skill modules taught in a Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills group: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

  • Learn evidence-based DBT skills to bring to your clinical work right away to help clients struggling with strong emotions and challenging relational patterns.

  • Learn the practical application of mindfulness skills as well as how to help clients tolerate high distress states without engaging in behaviors that makes things worse.

  • Learn how to guide clients in communicating more effectively in relationships and how to both tolerate and change painful emotions.

Teachings are appropriate for healthcare professionals as well as the general public. Healthcare professionals will be able to incorporate the tools and practices offered in this program in ways beneficial to clients or patients.

Payment

  • The total cost for the full 27 week course is $2,970 without CEs. An additional $225 will be added to the course total if you would like CEs.

Information on Continuing Education Credit for Health Professionals

  • CE credits for psychologists are provided by the Spiritual Competency Academy (SCA) which is sponsoring this program. The Spiritual Competency Academy is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Spiritual Competency Academy maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

  • The California Board of Behavioral Sciences accepts CE credits for LCSW, LPCC, LEP, and LMFT license renewal for programs offered by sponsors of CE who are approved by the American Psychological Association.

  • LCSW, LPCC, LEP and LMFTs, and other professionals from outside of California need to check with their state licensing board as to whether or not they accept credits from programs offered by approved sponsors of CE by the American Psychological Association.

  • SCA is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN Provider CEP16887) for licensed nurses in California. RNs must retain their certificate of attendance for 4 years after the course concludes. Nurses outside of California must confirm acceptance with their licensing boards.
